Bedroom Closets
Dustin built custom closets in all the bedrooms in our home. He built them, then I finished them. All of the bedrooms have closets like this one, besides the master bedroom. May 25, 2009.

Granite Counter Tops in Kitchen
We decided to put Granite counter tops in the kitchen. We had been in our house for 9 days without any kitchen counter tops, kitchen sink or a dishwasher. Dustin was leaving to Canada the week of May 10th. So if they didn't get any part of the counter top done until Dustin got back from Canada it would be at least another week w/o a working kitchen. Peter, the counter top man, told us it wouldn't be until after the 10th. We asked them if there was any way they could at least get the bar done, then they could come back next week and finish up the rest. They said they could do that. So they came on the May 9th and then the rest of the weekend Dustin got our dishwasher hooked up and sink....and now we have a full running kitchen.

They pulled up to the front door to unload it.

Lifting the piece on to the bar. Peter was able to cut it out of one piece of granite, so there is no seam in it.

Holding sinks while the epoxy dries.

We love our kitchen.

We picked a color called Venetian Gold. We LOVE it. Our last house we did a dark black and brown. We wanted to try something different. We had seen this chipped edge in Utah and asked Peter about it. He had never heard about it, no one had in this area. Peter first said that if we wanted the chipped edge done, he wondered if we would go in 1/2 with the machine ($1,000). Dustin told him if we were going to 1/2, we would just buy it for future projects. We didn't hear back. Once we got ready to put the kitchen in we asked Peter about edges and he said he had bought the machine. Ya! So it is hard to see it in the picture, but all the edges are chipped, and you can see the granite through it all. Beautiful!

Carpet Going In
The carpet guys came just 1 day before we moved in....we barely made it:)! We picked out a carpet color and only saw a small piece of this carpet. When the guys came to put it in and I saw it on the truck, it looked really light and it made me nervous. Once they got it in, Dustin and I LOVED it. It is exactly what we wanted. It has multi colors of flex in it....and it is dark enough for little boys! Everything is carpeted except the stairs, 'piano' room, and the master bedroom.

Tile in Kitchen
We used 2 different colors and 2 different sizes of tile and then Dustin did the pin will pattern in the kitchen. It turned out great.

Porches
Concrete
Vick and his guys came out to pour the concrete. We did a 30 x 40 foot slab.

They got to the very last corner and they ran out of concrete. Vick looked at Dustin w/o saying anything and Dustin said "go for it. . . ."

They hurried and took off the bottom form and removed 6 inches of concrete along that edge that they had already poured, then moved it to the corner to fill in the hole.

Letting the concrete cure.

Edging the concrete that has already been broomed.
